I have been saying repeatedly that the Democrats’ beloved Affordable Care and Patient Protection Act of 2010 (aka. ObamaCare) will never live up to its name. Yesterday the Wall Street Journal reported that, “Health insurers are privately warning brokers that premiums for many individuals and small businesses could increase sharply next year because of the health-care overhaul law, with the nation’s biggest firm projecting that rates could more than double for some consumers buying their own plans.”
Now I am well aware that saying something “could” happen does not guarantee that it will. But if anyone would like to bet me that the Affordable Care Act will, in general, make healthcare more affordable, I will gladly accept your challenge.
Unfortunately, politicians are masters of manipulation; all they ever need to do to get reelected is to get a majority of the people to believe in something as real as the the tooth fairy. Some of us understand why the tooth fairy no longer cometh, while others still believe and cling to their slogan of “hope and change.”
Hey y’all – It’s time to repeal the mis-named Affordable Care Act.

Post Anecdote – A liberal acquaintance of mine recently admitted she was not happy that the ObamaCare law was so complicated, convoluted, and nearly incomprehensible. “It was not supposed to do that,” she remarked. In the interest of preserving friendly relations, I uttered not a word, but rather just smiled and nodded. Remember, Nancy Pelosi did say that they needed to pass the 2000 page health care bill in order to find out what was in it. Did anyone really believe that this law would simplify the healthcare system or make health care more affordable? What ever happened to common sense and critical thinking?
