Remember Benghazi – Beware of Twitter

It’s very hard to reach anyone at Twitter unless you tweet them, which I refuse to do. I wanted to voice a complaint directly to their management, but since I don’t tweet, I’ll voice my opinion here instead. My issue is with Twitter, Inc. itself. Too few people control platforms such as Twitter/Facebook and thus are able to “nudge” the masses in a direction that matches the values and world views of Twitter/Facebook’s leaders and their company cultures. Generically speaking this was not necessarily wrong when done transparently, but in this day and age of algorithms, supercomputers and social media, it is not at all transparent. Many people are being influenced and manipulated by online platforms without their knowledge. It is pretty scary. Why should I care what issues or stories Twitter/Facebook has chosen to label as “trending” conversations? I choose to leave myself out of that artificially created herd to hopefully think, explore and learn for myself.

Twitter, Inc. leans progressive-left. I know that means they don’t like conservatives and Republicans – people who favor more “traditional” values. That’s OK, because I don’t like their politics and social views. For instance, what is Twitter’s obsession with sexual orientation, especially the LGBT kinds? Why should I care if my auto mechanic or plumber or whoever is straight or gay? Judging from the content on Twitter’s website one might begin to think that being straight in this modern era is an oddity. But I digress…

My main point is that I know that Twitter suppresses tweets and conversations that go against their political views and promotes (trends) conversations that support their political and social views. They cannot suppress all of the things they don’t like because that would be too obvious and they don’t want to appear obvious in their bias. The latest evidence that Twitter does this: Kris Paronto’s tweet excoriating former President Obama for the Benghazi fiasco. Paronto offended Twitter with his comment. They shut him down.

Ambassador Christopher Stevens was murdered during a terrorist attack on the diplomatic outpost at Benghazi in 2012.

Paronto, a former U.S. Army Ranger and CIA security contractor, was actually in Benghazi when Americans came under attack there in 2012 on the anniversary of 9/11. The murders of four Americans there could probably have been prevented by the Obama administration. Ambassador Chris Stevens had requested more security; none was sent. Instead he was murdered and his body paraded around the streets. Two other Americans, security officers Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were killed by jihadi mortar fire. U.S. Foreign Service Information Management Specialist Sean Smith was also killed. There was a coverup. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton li*d about it. Ambassador Susan Rice l*ed about it. President Obama li*d about it. Kris Paronto was at Benghazi. He was an eye-witness. His observations and opinions carry weight. He is not a politician. He tweeted about it. Twitter’s censors deleted his tweet. Thus, Twitter provides cover for the Obama/Clinton derelicts responsible for the death of four Americans at Benghazi and their ongoing li*s to coverup the truth of that mess.

Susan Rice was the public face of the Obama administration’s campaign to deceive the American people from the truth behind the Benghazi attacks.

Benghazi was a fiasco that could have been avoided, except the Clintons didn’t like Ambassador Chris Stevens. There is gossip that he had crossed them. It may well be true. So Secretary Clinton assigned him to the most dangerous outpost in the world with minimal security. Professionals in the State Department knew it was a good possibility that Americans in Benghazi would come under attack. Hillary knew it too.

The coverup of what really happened in Washington and at Benghazi was criminal and was done simply to hide the truth, which was necessary for Obama to get re-elected in 2012. The coverup was also about protecting Hillary and her future ambitions. It was one of the ugliest examples of political blood sport in modern American history. Yet Twitter must censor Kris Paronto. The coverup continues.

Yes Twitter, yes Jack Dorsey, you are falling shy of living up to your stated values:

Blah, blah blah… more false advertising.

I have no doubt that Twitter/Facebook are part of the crowd that is in competition to take Trump down or at least prevent him from a second term. The people who control social media’s online platforms are not merely unbiased facilitators of communication. Instead they are using their dark genius as much as lies within their power to shape political and social conversations, which, in turn, will shape the future of our world. It’s very 1984.

Food for thought: Why does “progressive” San Francisco have such a homeless problem? Could it be that there is a correlation between progressive policies and a certain level human dysfunction? Which states tend to be generally in better fiscal health, ones controlled by Republicans or ones controlled by Democrats? Throw out the exceptions (if there are any) and you will see the correlation.

P.S. Predictably, some will dismiss my views about the Benghazi scandal as being some sort of wacky conspiracy theory. I say to them: read the Congressional Benghazi report. Look at the known facts of the case. If you are a Democrat or a liberal, be a grownup and make an honest assessment of that history. Regarding Twitter/Facebook’s shenanigans -there are so many examples of funny stuff going on behind the scenes at these online platforms it is impossible to conclude they are merely non-partisan facilitators of free speech. Only an ostrich would believe that.

On Thursday, November 12th, President Obama told ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos that ISIS is “contained.” The very next day, in Paris, France heavily armed ISIS terrorists went on a rampage and killed at least 129 innocent people and wounded about 350 others. 99 of those wounded are in critical condition. Once again, President Obama has been caught trying to deceive not just the American people, but the entire world. Remember, it was this foolish man, the man who has been entrusted with more power than anyone to combat world terrorism, who in 2014 referred to ISIS as “J.V.” or Junior Varsity.* It is true to say that the Obama Administration’s effort to deflect from its failure to protect American lives in Benghazi, was done simply to avoid losing an election.

This incompetent leader spends so much time covering up his failures. The result of his deception is that too many unthinking Americans and Obama supporters have been lulled into a false sense of security. This can only happen in a society where a large part of the media is corrupted and complicit in the deception. Propaganda is used by the likes of MSNBC, CNN, Politico, Huffington Post, Media Matters, Thinkprogress.org, The New York Times and other “news” outlets to conceal the truth about the state of our nation.

President Obama is now welcoming Syrian refugees into the United States. And with all that is going on in the world he refuses to seal America’s borders. How is this a good thing? Wake up people, before it’s too late.

Although Barack Obama’s last day as President won’t come soon enough, it won’t really matter unless we elect a more competent, and honest person to be our next President. That certainly excludes, Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton.

*When professional propagandist and White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest tried to deceive people about President Obama’s foolish Junior Varsity comment he was given FOUR PINNOCHIOS by Tampa Bay Times’ Politifact. Since the Tampa Bay Times could not bring themselves to assign President Obama four Pinnochios, even though he made the same false statement as Josh Earnest, I will step in here and award President Obama his well deserved prize:

Hats off to the Washington Post which did see fit to award President Obama with four Pinnochios for trying to mislead people about what he had previously said about ISIS. It brings a glimmer of hope that there may still be some in the news business with integrity even at liberal-leaning Washington Post.

Thoughts on 9/11

So there was supposed to be a “Million Muslim March Against Fear” on Washington today. NBC Washington reported that the event was “sparsely attended” – the understatement of the year. The actual count was about twenty-five people – and that’s twenty-five too many! Anyone who thinks that the anniversary of 9/11 is an appropriate day for such a “march” may be considered an enemy of the United States, or, at the very least, such a person should be considered as one who chooses to give support to the jihadists who want to kill us. (Kudos to all of those patriotic bikers who descended on Washington to counter the Million Muslim March!)

An organized Muslim march on September 11th in Washington is the immoral equivalent of the Ku Klux Klan marching on Washington on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Good, decent, peace-loving people do not pretend that such things are OK. Nor do decent people think it’s OK to build a mosque a block away from Ground Zero.

When I rustled out of bed this morning, I had forgotten what day it was – I don’t mark my calendar in anticipation of the anniversary of 9/11, but as I unfolded my laptop and started prowling around the news, it was there – live from Ground Zero, the surviving relatives choking out the names of their loved ones who were murdered at Shanksville, lower Manhattan and Arlington twelve years ago. I clicked the TV on and began watching uninterrupted news footage as it was recorded twelve years ago. This awakened in me feelings I experienced that horrible day.

Some say “Move on! – That’s all in the past…” They are mistaken. Some even say 9/11 was payback.

One of the most important things we need to remind ourselves is that the jihadists are still at war with western civilization and Americans are still their number one target. Just ask Fort Hood shooter Major Nidal Hasan or the families of his victims, or Boston bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, or the survivors and families of his victims. Even though the Obama Administration refuses to acknowledge a “war on terror,” the jihadists are plotting and planning and waiting for every opportunity to kill Americans. Our weakness or lack of resolve becomes their opportunity. They will strike again.

The American people are still waiting for the Obama administration to come clean about events leading up to the murder of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya, just one year ago – the 11th anniversary of 9/11 – no coincidence. And today, one day after 9/11, those same nihilists detonated a bomb at the Foreign Ministry in Benghazi – again no coincidence, for jihadists love to commemorate anniversaries with more death and destruction.

They will never admit it, but the truth is that senior officials in the Obama administration covered up their negligence and incompetence in handling the events that led to the attack at Benghazi that resulted in four Americans deaths. The victims were Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Information Officer Sean Smith and embassy security personnel, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods.

Then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who hopes to win our favor and become the first female President in 2016, was noticeably absent from the public eye in the aftermath of Benghazi.  In her place, then Ambassador Susan Rice was sent out by the Obama administration to lie to the American people in large part to prevent the Benghazi tragedy from damaging President Obama’s re-election prospects. President Obama has since rewarded Rice for her “loyalty” by making her our nation’s top national security advisor. This type of behavior simply shows that personal ambition and political power are the priority of this administration, rather than the truth, and the protection of the interests of the American people. The memories of those four Americans killed at Benghazi have been dishonored by this administration’s crafty lies.

The past cannot be changed; therefore I offer this wish for the future: May the American people soon find the collective wisdom to elect moral leaders, people who put the welfare of this country and its people ahead of their personal ambitions, unlike the rot occupying our present leadership in Washington.  That goes for Democrats and Republicans.

The present administration’s cover up of Benghazi was as much about Barack Obama’s re-election as it was about Hillary Clinton’s ambition to become the next president of the United States.

If you prefer lies and deception to the ideals and principles that have made America great, then in 2016, Hillary is your man.

Warning: Mark my words –  If you are a male person and you are thinking of voting for someone other than Hillary in 2016, you will be accused of being the worst kind of neanderthal, subhuman, sexist soldier continuing the “war on women.”

It must be evident to anyone who is honest with themself that President Barack Obama has zero credibility when it comes to government transparency.

The Obama administration still has not revealed why the decision was made not adequately protect ambassador Chris Stevens and the American consulate in Benghazi even though additional security had been requested. Eight months later and still waiting…

We still don’t know who in the State Department altered the Benghazi talking points given to Susan Rice, which were clearly altered to misinform the American people about why the murder of four Americans was allowed to take place. Instead we are still getting dismissals of questions about Benghazi like the one by President Obama’s Press Secretary Jay Carney who said recently that the murder of Americans at Benghazi “happened a long time ago.”

Despite repeated requests the White House is still refusing to release emails that may show how the administration wanted to change the Benghazi attack “talking points.” Meanwhile, Secretary of State John Kerry is making the rounds proclaiming that this administration will “leave no stone unturned” in the Benghazi affair. Proof that John Kerry is a political hack with no self-respect.

Then there is the Fast and Furious gun walking case that resulted in the murder of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. When Congress requested information from the Obama Administration about the program, President Obama invoked Executive Privilege and U. S. Attorney General Eric Holder became the first sitting member of the Cabinet of the United States to be held in Contempt of Congress for refusing to cooperate. Is this what President Obama means by transparency and open government?

(Update, May 16th) Yesterday the White House released a limited batch of 94 pages of emails related to the Benghazi affair. It is a small gesture at best because these emails were sent several days after the murders at Benghazi. The administration is only selectively releasing information in order to appear as though they are cooperating. The cover up continues…

It’s been a while since I have written about the Benghazi attack and the Obama administration’s apparent attempt to cover up the truth of that preventable tragedy.

When White House Press Secretary Jay Carney was recently asked at a press conference about new developments in the Benghazi terrorist attack, Carney implied that the subject was not worthy of discussion because “Benghazi happened a long time ago.”

Now let’s remember that four Americans were murdered during that September 2012 attack. Would Carney use the same lame dismissal that Newtown “happened a long time ago” if a journalist raised a question about the Newtown School Massacre? It’s likely Carney would lose his job if he acted as smug and callous in dismissing a question regarding the mass murder of school children. But Benghazi is different.

The reason why Obama administration officials have been acting out so strangely every time Benghazi is brought up is because they fear the truth getting out about their failure to protect our consulate in Libya and their subsequent effort to cover up their failure in an attempt to regain the White House.

The narrative that Obama had killed Bin Laden and crushed the terror networks was essential to winning back the White House. The truth about Benghazi threatened that. Once again, it was politics and personal ambition above all else. When political careers take precedence over the safety and security of Americans, Americans are sure to suffer or even die.

Let’s hope the testimony later this week from officials within the State Department will help us get closer to truth about Benghazi.  If they confirm what many of us believe, the people involved in this cover up need to be held responsible. Hillary in 2016? Maybe not….

On September 11, 2012, the eleventh anniversary of 9-11, two U.S. government facilities in Benghazi, Libya came under attack. This preplanned attack, carried out by Islamic terrorists, resulted in the murder of U.S. ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans: Sean Smith, a Foreign Service information officer, and Tyrone S. Woods and Glen A. Doherty, two former Navy SEALs working as security personnel at our consulate.

According to the bi-partisan report released yesterday by the United States Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs,

“Senior officials from the IC (Intelligence Community), the Department of State, and the FBI who participated in briefings and interviews with the Committee said they believed the attack on the mission facility in Benghazi to be a terrorist attack immediately or almost immediately after it occurred.”

Furthermore, the Senate report states that, “there was never any doubt among key officials, including officials in the IC and the Department of State, that the attack in Benghazi was an act of terrorism.”

So why did Administration officials, Susan Rice, Jay Carney, Hillary Clinton and even President Obama himself mislead the American people to believe that the murder of four Americans in Benghazi on the anniversary of 9-11 was merely the result of a spontaneous reaction to an anti-Mohammed video? Only a naïve person would ask such a question.

The Senate report demonstrates facts that show the Obama Administration did not adequately protect our brave public servants in Benghazi from terrorist threats even though there were clear warnings that our consulate was in great danger. The Administration allowed a dangerous situation to get out of hand and then it got caught with its hands down. As a result four Americans were needlessly murdered by Islamic extremists.

At the time the Obama campaign was trumpeting the false narrative that our tough-as- nails commander-in-chief had nearly eradicated the terrorist threat by focusing the country’s attention on the killing of Bin Laden. The murder of our people in Benghazi threatened that narrative and jeopardized the re-election of President Obama. Therefore, instead of telling the American people the truth, the Obama spin team went into damage control. After all, there was a campaign to be won.

Here is what U.S. ambassador Susan Rice said on national TV while a guest on ABC’s This Week on September 16th, a full five days after the attack,

“First of all, let’s be clear about what transpired here. What happened this week in Cairo, in Benghazi, in many other parts of the region was a result, a direct result of a heinous and offensive video that was widely disseminated, that the U.S. government had nothing to do with, which we have made clear is reprehensible and disgusting.”

If high-ranking officials in the Obama Administration knew almost immediately that terrorists were involved in the murder of four Americans at Benghazi then why was our ambassador Susan Rice giving the American people a different version of events? There can be only one explanation. It was decided by Team Obama that the inconvenient truth behind the murder of four American public servants in Benghazi by Islamic extremists had to be suppressed.

The truth about Benghazi was trumped by Obama’s need to get re-elected. The ugly reality of the Benghazi affair is that when Team Obama was faced with a choice, it put its own needs ahead of the interests of the American people. Hail to the Chief!

P.S. – OK. So the Administration hid the truth from the American people. Some rationalize this by saying, “Obama is my guy” or “it’s no big deal – happens all the time.” I say, when our national security is at stake, when there are Islamic extremists plotting the destruction of America – then it is a big deal. If our political leaders allow the American people to become complacent for any reason it will increase the likelihood of another murderous, 9-11-like attack on American lives.
