Open Letter to Gov. Andrew Cuomo

Dear Governor Cuomo:
Trump was not remotely believable when he walked back his Russian election meddling comment at Helsinki by saying, “The sentence should have been, ‘I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be Russia.'” So too is your administration’s explanation not believable as it tries to walk back your comment that America “was never that great.” Of course, America has been and is considered by many people to be great – how else do you explain (you who condone illegal immigration into the United States) why so many emigrants risk their lives to come to the United States? Which is it Governor Cuomo? How do you reconcile those two things? You cannot.

Cuomo

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. Will he be running for President in 2020? Of course! He already is.

I know what you were up to when you said that America “was never that great.” You were pandering to potential voters who see themselves as victims and who have been brainwashed by party, media and academia to think America is built on a racist, sexist, homophobic foundation. I understand your ambition, but please don’t trash the country that gave you and your family so many great opportunities. That behavior is very low.

On our original founders:

The Landing of the Pilgrims at Plymouth, Mass. Dec. 22nd 1620

The Pilgrims in 1620 – our founding Mothers and Fathers.

“So they left that goodly and pleasant city of Leyden, which had been their resting-place for above eleven years; but they knew that they were pilgrims and strangers here below, and looked not much on these things, but lifted up their eyes to heaven, their dearest country, where God hath prepared for them a city ( Heb. xi. 16), and therein quieted their spirits.

When they came to Delfs-Haven they found the ship and all things ready; and such of their friends as could not come with them followed after them, and sundry came from Amsterdam to see them shipt, and to take their leaves of them. One night was spent with little sleep with the most, but with friendly entertainment and Christian discourse, and other real expressions of true Christian love. The next day they went on board, and their friends with them, where truly doleful was the sight of that sad and mournful parting, to hear what sighs and sobs and prayers did sound amongst them; what tears did gush from every eye, and pithy speeches pierced each other’s heart, that sundry of the Dutch strangers that stood on the Key as spectators could not refrain from tears. But the tide (which stays for no man) calling them away, that were thus loth to depart, their Reverend Pastor, falling down on his knees, and they all with him, with watery cheeks commended them with most fervent prayers unto the Lord and his blessing; and then with mutual embraces and many tears they took their leaves one of another, which proved to be the last leave to many of them.”

“Let the reader with me make a pause, and seriously consider this poor people’s present condition, the more to be raised up to admiration of God’s goodness towards them in their preservation: for being now passed the vast ocean, and a sea of troubles before them in expectation, they had now no friends to welcome them, no inns to entertain or refresh them, no houses, or much less towns, to repair unto to seek for succour: and for the season it was winter, and they that know the winters of the country know them to be sharp and violent, subject to cruel and fierce storms, dangerous to travel to known places, much more to search unknown coasts. Besides, what could they see but a hideous and desolate wilderness, full of wilde beasts, and wilde men? and what multitudes of them there were, they then knew not: for which way soever they turned their eyes ( save upward to Heaven) they could have but little solace or content in respect of any outward object; for summer being ended, all things stand in appearance with a weather-beaten face, and the whole country, full of woods and thickets, represented a wild and savage hew; if they looked behind them, there was the mighty ocean which they had passed, and was now as a main bar or gulph to separate them from all the civil parts of the world.”

Our original founding document – the Mayflower Compact (1620):

“IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN. We, whose names are underwritten, the loyal subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord King James, &c.& c., Having undertaken for the glory of God, and advancement of the Christian Faith, and the honour of our King and country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia; Do by these presents solemnly and mutually, in the presence of God and one another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil body politick, for our better ordering and preservation, and furtherance of the ends aforesaid: and by virtue hereof do enact, constitute, and frame such just and equal laws, ordinances, acts, constitutions, and offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general good of the Colony: unto which we promise all due submission and obedience,” etc.”

“A democracy, more perfect than antiquity had dared to dream of, started in full size and panoply from the midst of an ancient feudal society.” — Alexis de Tocqueville, “Democracy in America,” 1835

Gov Cuomo: If America isn’t and wasn’t ever great then why did your ancestors leave Italy to come here? More importantly, you imply that there are other countries greater than the United States. So I ask – why are you even still here?

One other thing, Governor Cuomo, your official website is like one big campaign ad – I cannot believe the people of New York put up with it. It really is an abuse of your office.

Sincerely,

Hortentius Canutus

“Disclaimer: By submitting this form you are agreeing to receive email updates from the State of New York.”

In other words if you want to voice your opinion to the governor’s office or ask for help you will be subject to a constant barrage of propaganda, like it or not. Just another friendly and delicate touch brought to you by the State of New York, Andrew Cuomo, governor.

P.S. Governor Cuomo may think my words too harsh, but I think when politicians say stupid things and promote damaging policies and ideas they need to be called out for it. I am sure Governor Cuomo is a big supporter of free speech, which is a right guaranteed to all Americans by our Bill of Rights.

Kuwait Has Its Own “Muslim Ban” Too! Where are the protestors?

Kuwaitis might need us to lend them some of our professional protestors.

Donald Trump’s immigrant ban from countries that harbor extremists is nothing new to the Arab rulers of Kuwait.

According to the Arab news outlet Al Alaraby,

“Syrians, Iraqis, Iranians, Pakistanis and Afghans have not been able to obtain visit, tourism or trade visas to Kuwait since 2011…

“Passport holders from the countries are not allowed to enter the Gulf state while the blanket ban is in place, and have been told not to apply to visas.

“Kuwaiti sources originally told local media that the restrictions were in place due to the “instability” in the five countries and that the ban would be lifted once the security situation improves.

“Kuwait is concerned about the threat of extremist groups such as al-Qaeda and the Islamic State group, and both militant organizations have offshoots in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Kuwait’s attempt to protect its citizens from terrorism and maintain stability seems like a rational approach to what has been happening in places like Iraq and Syria.

Donald Trump’s temporary ban seems equally rational. Why all the hissy fits? The jihadists are trying to get into the U.S. to massacre Americans. So why all these diversions from the reality of the need to prevent terror attacks in the US?

Al Alaraby also reports in the same story that after an attack that killed 27 in Kuwait City in 2015,

kuwait-mosque-blast-kills-27

Horrific aftermath of the suicide bombing of a Shia Mosque in Kuwait in 2015. Is Trump’s temporary immigration and refugee ban really the wrong thing to do?

“Kuwait responded by arresting dozens of suspected IS sympathisers and rolling out a mandatary DNA testing programme and database for the Gulf state’s four million population.”

Oh no, a registry!

Can’t we please ship our professional protestors to Kuwait? Judge Robart ? I’d like that.

Note: Of course, neither Kuwait’s ban nor Trump’s ban is a “Muslim Ban,” as it has been portrayed. But by lying about the intent of Trump’s ban the Democrats see a political opportunity. Unfortunately it may lead to future casualties on American soil.

Victoria, Texas Mosque Destroyed by Fire

By Frotho Canutus

Was this Mosque fire the product of some maniac’s blind hatred against all Muslims? If this was arson, hopefully an investigation will lead to an arrest, and a conviction.

Before the Trump-haters jump all over this story and blame Trump and his supporters for this fiery tragedy they better gather up some facts to back up their claim. Will they act responsibly and wait for actual facts? I doubt it. We have entered a new era of anti-intellectualism. One’s beliefs, no matter how far removed from truth and facts, justify any and all behavior.

Why is it wrong to rush to judgement in these cases? The reason is because the causes of events are not always what we wish to assume.

Here are two examples:

gary-nathaniel-moore-1
Gary Nathaniel Moore pleaded guilty last December to arson. He set his own mosque on fire.

On Christmas Day, 2015 a Mosque run by the Islamic Society of Greater Houston was set on fire. According to CNN,

The Houston chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations called on authorities to investigate the fire for an anti-Muslim motive.”

Was it a Trump supporter or a white supremacist or a KKK member, or a neo Nazi who was arrested and convicted for the arson? No. It was Gary Nathaniel Moore, a self-avowed, devout Muslim who prayed multiple times daily at the Mosque. Moore pleaded guilty to arson and was sentenced to four years in prison. Seems like kid glove treatment to me. I could be wrong, but if a white guy wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat had been found guilty of torching a mosque he would probably get more than four years.

greenville-hopewell-church-arrest-made

Andrew McClinton, 45 has been arrested and charged with first-degree arson.

The second example is the Hopewell Baptist Church in Greenville, Mississippi. This predominantly African-American church was set on fire last November days before the presidential election. Someone painted “Vote Trump” on the side of the church about the time the arson was committed. It’s a miracle that this did not lead to violence in the streets (although it probably did indirectly). I’m sure many people jumped to the conclusion that some racist Trump supporter committed the arson. Well, as it turns out the person arrested for committing the arson was Andrew McClinton, a Black man who was a member of the Hopewell congregation.

Things are not always what they seem. Beware of the purveyors of false narratives that try to twist every tragic news event into something that can be used against those they hate.

The other recent fire that I cannot help mentioning is the arson that gutted the Republican Party office in Hillsborough, North Carolina three weeks before the 2016 presidential election. As of this writing, no arrests have been made. While sometimes things are not as they seem, sometimes they are. It would be nice to have some answers in this case.

Democrats now support refusing service to certain groups of people.

It has been reported that some food-service employees sympathetic with Black Lives Matter refuse service to law enforcement officers or spit in their food. Hillary-supporting entertainers refuse to perform for the Trumps. Progressive fashion designers refuse to help dress the Trump women for the inaugural celebration. If one is  a Republican, or a conservative, or someone who supports either of these groups or Donald Trump in any way, the left thinks you must be punished for your views. Notice how it’s OK. for liberals to deny service to people they disagree with, but if conservatives do it they are pounded by the left for being bigots. When a husband (man) and wife (woman) refused to bake a cake for a lesbian wedding on the grounds of religious conscience the left attempted to destroy them. Melissa and Aaron Klein’s bank account was emptied by the Oregon Department of Labor and they were forced to shut down their bakery. Who is surprised by this liberal hypocrisy? Not me. Also, the left apparently thinks death threats are an appropriate method for getting people to fall in line. Ask the Electoral College Electors or Andrea Bocelli who backed down from singing at President Trump’s inauguration celebration.

African-American singer Jennifer Holliday backed out of her performance at Trump’s “Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration” in Washington D.C. on Jan. 19th. and told MSNBC that,

“They were calling me c***, calling me house n*****, calling me Aunt Jemima, calling me all kinds of names and asking me to kill myself. And that was from the black community.”

What a lovely country we now live in. The self-anointed people of “tolerance” are in reality the true fascists, for they are the people who condone censorship, threats, and violence.

Political Rage and the Hatred of Free Speech

By Frotho Canutus

I like some of the messages I see on bumper stickers, just not most of the ones that are mass produced with little substance behind them. That’s why I design my own. Unfortunately though, since Hillary Clinton lost the election she was supposed to win, my bumper stickers have become a liability. Apparently some liberals absolutely hate them. Telling the truth about Obama, Hillary and the Democrats has become increasingly dangerous in the United States since November 8th. Making points about politics and policies using facts is just simply intolerable in the minds of the losing Trump-haters.

Here is the first bumper sticker that attracted some miserable Democrat’s cup of joe.obamacare-bumper-sticker-coffe-copy1 I didn’t wash it off, and instead wore it as actual and symbolic proof of the left’s hatred for those who disagree with them. Sad.

Today, I went to the drive thru ATM at my bank. While waiting for the guy in front of me to finish his transaction I noticed a car driven by a man pull up behind me. Wondering how he would take my bumper stickers, I watched him. As he began to read them he at first shook his head, then he became more and more animated. I pulled up to the ATM as the vehicle in front of me pulled away. When I looked back again, the guy behind me was now going ape-shit. He was shaking his fists and flailing his arms wildly. He looked like he was shouting at my car at the top of his lungs. He was absolutely apoplectic. At this point I realized it would not be wise to stick around with my card in the ATM in case this maniac got out of his car and approached me, so I grabbed my card and left the scene before things escalated. You had to see the way this guy was behaving for yourself.

Here are some of the other bumper stickers that have brought out the most hateful reactions in people:

bumper-sticker-trouble-copy

bumper-closeup-copyThe Trump voters have been accused over and over of being hateful people. In my experience it is the exact opposite.

I’ve decided therefore it’s time for the Hillary/Obama bumper stickers to come off. There’s no sense in attracting lunatics to take out their aggressions on me and my family. Besides, Hillary will not be running for President again in three years and Obama is a lame duck who will be gone in three weeks. Good riddance. Onward Trump!

For those of you reading this who don’t like my Obama/Hillary bumper stickers, please, tell me what is factually incorrect about them.

It’s Official – Trump Wins!

trump-towerMore importantly, the country wins. Despite the death threats and intimidation, the Electors have voted. Donald Trump will be our next president. Even though they will never admit it, even Democrats will benefit from the new administration. Obama was a disaster.

AP news is reporting that Trump received 304 electoral votes, Hillary Clinton received 227. Trump lost two votes to “faithless electors,” while Clinton lost five. Sorry, Hillary.

Hypocritical Hillary or, the Altruism of Jill Stein

hypocritical-hillary

Hillary Clinton

The Clinton/Stein campaigns are coordinating with each other to request vote recounts in three states where Donald Trump seems to have won by a slim majority. Stein’s support nation-wide was miniscule, she only got approximately 1% of the popular vote and did not pick up any Electoral College votes. Stein defended the recounts by saying,

“What we’re doing is standing up for an election system that we can trust. We deserve to have votes that we can believe in,” Stein said in a video on her Facebook page. “This is a commitment that Greens have expressed — that we stand for election integrity, that we support voting systems that respect our vote.  We demand voting systems that are accurate, that are publicly controlled, that are not privatized.”

“This initiative is not about helping one candidate and hurting another,” she said. “We said over and over, we don’t support either of them. In this recount effort, we’re not attempting to overthrow Donald Trump, and I don’t expect that will be the outcome.”

(Source: Detroit Free Press@ http://www.freep.com/story/news/politics/2016/11/25/michigan-preparing-potential-hand-recount-48m-presidential-votes/94429196/)

Stein is being disingenuous. She is only looking for recounts in states where Trump appears to have the lead over Clinton – in Wisconsin by 27,257 votes, in Pennsylvania by 68,236 votes and in Michigan by 11,612. If Stein does not favor one candidate over another as she claims then why does she not demand a recount in New Hampshire where Hillary only seems to have won by less than 2,800 votes, or Maine where she is ahead by only 20, 035 votes? The answer is that Stein, who is far more aligned with Clinton when it comes to politics and public policy, is doing this at the request of Mrs. Clinton. Of course, Stein prefers a President Clinton to a President Trump.

Even though their efforts won’t change the outcome of the election, the Clinton/Stein strategy seeks to fan the flames of Democratic voter discontent. It attempts to plant the seed of election illegitimacy in the minds of their supporters. One unfortunate outcome of all this is the destabilization of our U.S. presidential voting system. The left never loses quietly or with grace.

Donald Trump was battered by the Hillary, her supporters and the mainstream media for saying he would have to wait and see if he would accept the election results. Hillary has flipped – it is she who is not willing to accept the election results. As recently as October 20th Hillary characterized the position she is now taking as “horrifying.”

Opportunists who will do anything to get what they want have no shame when it comes to taking hypocritical positions.
